Anna is the founder and Director of Toi Āria, a senior design researcher in the College of Creative Arts at Massey University, and is chair of Massey University Press.
Anna is a design educator, researcher and award-winning practitioner. Her research spans participatory design, creative leadership, collaboration and design-led innovation. She continues to lead the Value of Design initiative and has served as a national judge for the ‘public good award’ at the Designers Institute of New Zealand Best Awards.

Andrew is a founding Toi Āria Associate. If he had his way, New Zealand people would have a direct and authentic say in all of the public policies and services which most affect them. With 20 years experience in helping organisations to become more authentically led by their end-users, he's excited by the singular focus of Toi Āria on public good, and by the freedom to innovate that Toi Āria's unique business model makes possible. Andrew is a public engagement expert, with a special interest in designing ways of having meaningful conversations with New Zealand people that result in policy and services being more relevant to them. He has a broad experience design track record across private, public and NGO organisations.

Ana is a user experience specialist. Her skills include research, facilitation and design collaboration. As an empath, Ana enjoys discovering what really drives human behaviour within organisations and using these insights to close the gap between strategy and delivery.
Ana is one of those people who learned her skills ‘on-the-job’. She has more than 20 years’ experience working with companies ranging from recording and film studios to large public sector and corporate organisations. Ana chooses to focus on projects that contribute to the greater good.

Service & Experience designer
Ross is a service and user experience designer who recently completed his Master of Design at the College of Creative Arts, Massey University. He has a passion for both strengthening democracy and empowering and facilitating citizens to be more civically engaged. Through his masters research he designed and proposed a volunteer (participatory democracy) management platform that empowers young New Zealanders to volunteer with local non-profit organisations.
He has significant experience in human-centred design, co-design processes, and projects concerned with the access and delivery of information in digital spaces.

Dr Simon Mark
Simon is a researcher whose career has encompassed the public, private and not-for-profit sectors in Aotearoa New Zealand and overseas, including as trade commissioner in Fiji, field representative in Vanuatu for Volunteer Service Abroad (he is currently the organisation’s president), and consultant in the energy sector. He has worked in policy roles for MFAT and MCH. His area of research expertise is cultural diplomacy. Simon is also a photographer.

Jhana is the administrator of Toi Āria. She is passionate about community engagement projects and improving the quality and accessibility of our public services.
She has a background in the visual arts and events, and also works at the Wellington Sculpture trust.
